British Wools Weaving Experience with Rebecca Connolly

Would you like the opportunity to weave alongside woven textile designer and hand-weaver Rebecca?
In this masterclass style session with only 2 participants at a time, she will offer a vast selection of the yarns she uses in her own practice foryou to try; primarily wool but alpaca and a flax blend too, all grown andproces sed in the UK.Lace Weight to Chunky, creamy white Cotswold to tweedy grey Herdwick, mostly undyed with a splash of dyed colour from plants and acid dyes.
A rigid heddle loom will be setup ready for you to weave your own eclectic sample to take home.
Instruction, encouragement and inspiration offered as required!
There are only 2 places in each hour long session and only 4 sessions over the weekend so please book soon to avoid disappointment
WHAT TO BRING: A notebook if you want to record information on the yarns you use.
From her Cirencester studio, Rebecca designs woven textiles on her vintage looms.
She specialises in creating fabrics with provenance, using locally farmed and rare-breed wools with natural dyes whenever feasible.
Commissions for bespoke items are hand-woven or designs developed for farmers and clients destined for production weaving.
Rebecca graduated from Bath School of Art & Design, is a Licentiate of The Society of Designer Craftsmen and a member of Southwest England Fibreshed.
She mentors, demonstrates and teaches locally, for the King’s Foundation at Highgrove and for West Dean College in Chichester.
