Blacklands Alpacas

Blacklands Alpacas has been breeding alpacas and producing fleece and yarn for around 20 years, producing the finest, softest fleece. Once processed, either spun into yarn or as tops some is hand dyed, some is sold and some is taken further and made into knitted/crotched/woven items or used in their kits. They also have some entire alpaca fleeces available.

Bluebell Yarns hand-dyes wool and alpaca yarn sourced from the UK and Falkland Islands. A range of yarn weights are available including 4ply, DK and Aran. All the yarn is processed in the UK, is synthetic free and has not been superwash treated. There is no single use plastic used in the dyeing process, and water is used carefully to minimise wastage.

The British Coloured Sheep Breeders Association (BCSBA) is dedicated to supporting and promoting both pure and crossbred coloured sheep. With a focus on high standards of flock management, the BCSBA ensures the production of top-quality fleece. Their wool and products showcase the diverse and beautiful range of natural colours found in these sheep. Members offer a wide variety of pure and crossbred fleeces, providing fibre artists with unique materials in a spectrum of colours.

Chilton Grounds Farm, a family-run farm in Buckinghamshire, combines generations of sheep farming with extensive knitting and spinning expertise to produce nature-inspired 4-ply and DK yarns from their award-winning flock of Wensleydale longwools.

Clappery Crafts is based at a smallholding in North Devon, Where they harvest the fleece from their fibre flock of sheep which will live out the rest of their days as pets, including some rare breed Leicester longwool, Teeswater, devon & cornwall and gotlands for their lovely locks.
As well as tending their flock they craft with the wool to produce woven seat pads and rugs and also felt to produce unique scarfs and bags which will be available to buy along with raw fleece, part fleece and luscious locks.

Living on the edge of Dartmoor makes for ideal conditions for both Jacob and Island Shetland sheep.
Jacobs from a long line of sheep bred for their wool.Shetlands all have breeding lines going back to Shetland.Mostly Moorits(a wonderful range of browns highlighted by weather.)Both breeds I sell most of the yarn in natural colours . Yarn,sheepskins,both raw and washed wool.Both DK and 4 ply are stocked.

KnittyBYarn is an independent yarn dyer specialising in small-batch dyed BFL (Bluefaced Leicester) and wool/cotton blends. They create unique colourways and offer custom dyeing services to meet customer specifications. In addition to their beautifully dyed yarns, they also make handmade stitch markers and provide yarn and pattern sets.

Lakemoor Alpacas
Sam and Mark from Lakemoor Alpacas will be at the show with their beautiful alpacas that they breed and look after to harvest their wonderful fleece. Alpaca wool is a luxury wool, it’s a hollow fibre that naturally regulates temperature and humidity, making it comfortable to wear, soft to the touch and strong too. Their wool is available raw, or washed and carded in a range of colours, ideal for spinning and crafting. Don't miss their stand in The Combing Shed where they are selling fibres, yarn and finished products too.
